I spent last weekend selling books and prints at TCAF and hanging out with the numinous luminaries of the alternative comics and graphic novel set. It was a great chance to see old friends like Seth, Jeff Lemire, Jose Villarrubia, Dan Clowes and the great folks at Drawn and Quarterly and The Beguiling. But the highlight was sharing a table with the gorgeous and talented Sonja Ahlers. Her new book from D&Q, “The Selves,” is a completely entrancing meditation on feminism, 70s horror movies and Lady Di. The book launch is Thu, May 13, with an installation by the artist, at Magic Pony in Toronto.
