This is one of the oddest commissions I ever received. For the July 1999 issue of Out magazine I was asked to imagine a vision of  gay hell based on the famous Inferno section of Dante’s Divine Comedy. What fun! It appeared in the magazine as a spread but I’ve stacked it here so it’s easier to see. I remember a letter in the following issue from someone at Ethan Allen complaining about the way they were treated in the 8th circle! Oh, honestly, it was just a joke!?! Rather a jolly nightmare on the whole I’d say. Thanks, Out magazine! Oh, and if anyone knows where the original art is, I’d love to have it back…
