Here is a comic from ages ago. I know, I know, it’s been done a gajillion times but hey, to me, all the more reason to give it the Vellekoop treatment! Hooray for the hackneyed! I photocopied the art from something called “The World of Small Ads” which I bought on remainder at Book City say, 25 years ago for around $1.99. I also used the copier to insert my changes into the original classic ad. The book is a collection of ultra-cheap images taken from old comics and magazines, themselves blown up on a Xerox. It still inspires me and embodies a New Wave  (the music movement, not the French film movement, though I’m inspired by that too!) aesthetic and sensibility I still connect with all these years later.
