So makeup artiste extraordinaire Dino Dilio asked me to create a Christmas card image for him this year. A caption below the image reads “You made me look like Diana Ross again!” Of course, the whole joke depends on whether the character really looks like Ms. Ross or not. Well, I customarily find caricature quite challenging and this was no exception. I spent a couple of days on the sketch and I just could not get the likeness. Things improved when I realized her eyes slant down rather than up. The deadline loomed and here is the result. (I leave it to the viewer to decide if it’s a success or not.) Anyhow, thanks Dino for a fun, instructive challenge!
